Current AFN Staff Opening– Bilingual (English/Spanish) Program Specialist (as of 11/9/15)
Technology is the new utility and everyone should have access to and the benefits of using technology. Austin Free – Net – AFN a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit since 1995, seeks a Bilingual (English/Spanish) Program Specialist to provide computer training and digital literacy classes to its clients. AFN serves as a partner, in a national White House Initiative called ConnectHome! We are looking for a dynamic Program Specialist (PS) who will create curriculum, teach low literacy clients how to use computers, and assist clients in becoming digital citizens. The successful candidate will have a BA, BS degree in Education, Social Work, or related fields. 3 years experience with vulnerable adult populations which includes: low-income, homeless, public housing, and or seniors. Must be patient with a flexible schedule to meet client needs. This person will also serve as the team lead with our national program. Must possess excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office suite, Google docs, Google sheets, Google apps, etc., basic web design, and other software packages to help clients learn about technology. Compassionate and dedicated to the underserved populations. Must have reliable and dependable transportation with the state required insurance.
