Computer skills + Wellness info = Healthy Austinites! Thanks to a recent grant from the Austin Public Library, AFN will be launching a new program in September, Getting It Done: My Library Keeps Me Healthy. The new collaboration will pair computer literacy skills and opportunities to build health literacy. Customers of the Library of all ages will receive one-to-one coaching at three library locations: Little Walnut Creek, Central Library and Terrazas library. Tablet computers will be utilized to help students learn about the library’s online resources and how to be safe on the Internet.
“AFN has been a partner with the Austin Public Library since we were established in 1995 and we are excited to create new innovative programs to help empower those that don’t have access to vital information,” said Juanita Budd, AFN Executive Director.
If you would like to participate in the program, contact one of the libraries listed above.
