AFN Executive Director to Speak at Black History Month Event on February 16


The Carver Branch of Austin Public Library will host an event to commemorate National Black History Month on Saturday, February 16 from 10 AM – 12:30 PM. Austin Free-Net Executive Director Juanita Budd will be a featured speaker, along with keynote speaker Roosevelt Weeks, Director of Austin Public Libraries, featured speaker Catherine Crago Blanton, and City Council Member Natasha Harper-Madison.

Keeping with the theme of National Black History Month, “Black Migrations,” the event will include a screening of “Seeds of Success,” a PBS documentary telling the story of philanthropist, mentor, entrepreneur and scientist George Washington Carver.
